+ DAILY PRAYER +
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
Hear my prayer, O Lord; give ear to my pleas for mercy!
In your faithfulness answer me, in your righteousness!
Evening and morning and at noon I utter my complaint and moan,
and he hears my voice.
Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you;
He will never permit the righteous to be moved.
Psalm 31:9-14
Psa 31:9 Be gracious to me, O LORD,
for I am in distress; my eye is wasted from grief;
my soul and my body also.
Psa 31:10 For my life is spent with sorrow,
and my years with sighing; my strength fails
because of my iniquity, and my bones waste away.
Psa 31:11 Because of all my adversaries
I have become a reproach, especially to my neighbors,
and an object of dread to my acquaintances;
those who see me in the street flee from me.
Psa 31:12 I have been forgotten like one who is dead;
I have become like a broken vessel.
Psa 31:13 For I hear the whispering of many—
terror on every side!— as they scheme together
against me, as they plot to take my life.
Psa 31:14 But I trust in you, O LORD; I say,
“You are my God.”
Reading for Monday April 7th Psalm 106:33-48
33 because they rebelled against his Spirit,
and he spoke thoughtlessly with his lips.
34 They did not exterminate the peoples,
as Yahweh had commanded them,
35 but they mingled with the nations
and learned their works,
36 and served their idols,
which became a snare to them.
37 They even sacrificed their sons and daughters
to the demons,
38 and they poured out innocent blood,
the blood of their sons and daughters,
whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan,
and so the land was defiled with the blood.
39 And they became unclean by their works,
and were unfaithful in their deeds.
40 So Yahweh’s anger burned against his people,
and he abhorred his inheritance.
41 Then he gave them into the hand of the nations,
and those who hated them ruled over them.
42 And their enemies oppressed them,
and they were subdued under their hand.
43 Many times he delivered them,
but they rebelled in their counsel,
and were brought low by their iniquity.
44 Yet he looked upon their distress
when he heard their cry.
45 And he remembered his covenant with them,
and relented based on the abundance of his loyal love.
46 And he ?let them find compassion?
before all their captors.
47 Save us, O Yahweh our God,
and gather us from the nations,
so that we may give thanks to your holy name
and boast in your praise.
48 Blessed is Yahweh, the God of Israel,
from everlasting and to everlasting.
And let all the people say, “Amen!”
Praise Yah.
Lord’s Prayer
Daily Prayer
Lord Jesus Christ, in the Garden of Gethsemane You suffered the agony of drinking from the cup of Your Father’s wrath against our sin, being betrayed by a kiss from one of Your own. Give us strength to remain awake as we now wait and watch for Your coming again, knowing that the Father’s wrath against us has been satisfied by Your bloody death and vindicating resurrection; for You live and reign with the Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.
Concluding Prayer
Heavenly Father, send Your Holy Spirit into our hearts to direct and rule us to do Your will, to comfort us in all our afflictions, to defend us from all error, and to lead us into all truth; through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
