+ DAILY PRAYER +
A Prayer for Help, and Joy in Its Answer A psalm of David. 1 To you, O Yahweh, I call. O my rock, do not be deaf to me. Or else, if you are silent to me, then I will become like those descending to the pit. 2 Hear the voice of my supplications when I cry to you for help, when I lift up my hands…
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
Hear my prayer, O Lord; give ear to my pleas for mercy!
In your faithfulness answer me, in your righteousness!
Evening and morning and at noon I utter my complaint and moan,
and he hears my voice.
Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you;
He will never permit the righteous to be moved.
Psalm 5:1-8
Psa 5:1 Give ear to my words, O LORD;
consider my groaning.
Psa 5:2 Give attention to the sound of my cry,
my King and my God, for to you do I pray.
Psa 5:3 O LORD, in the morning you hear my voice;
in the morning I prepare a sacrifice for you and watch.
Psa 5:4 For you are not a God who delights in wickedness;
evil may not dwell with you.
Psa 5:5 The boastful shall not stand before your eyes;
you hate all evildoers.
Psa 5:6 You destroy those who speak lies;
the LORD abhors the bloodthirsty and deceitful man.
Psa 5:7 But I, through the abundance of your steadfast love,
will enter your house. I will bow down toward your holy temple
in the fear of you.
Psa 5:8 Lead me, O LORD, in your righteousness
because of my enemies; make your way straight before me.

A Prayer for Help, and Joy in Its Answer
28 A psalm of David.
1 To you, O Yahweh, I call.
O my rock, do not be deaf to me.
Or else, if you are silent to me,
then I will become like those descending to the pit.
2 Hear the voice of my supplications
when I cry to you for help,
when I lift up my hands
toward your holy inner sanctuary.
3 Do not drag me away with the wicked
or with the workers of evil,
who speak of peace with their neighbors,
while evil is in their heart.
4 Give to them according to their work,
even according to the evil of their deeds.
Give to them according to the work of their hands;
repay them their rightful due.
5 Because they do not regard the works of Yahweh,
nor the work of his hands,
he will destroy them
and not rebuild them.
6 Blessed is Yahweh,
because he has heard the voice of my supplications.
7 Yahweh is my strength and my shield.
My heart trusts him and I am helped.
So my heart rejoices,
and with my song I will give thanks to him.
8 Yahweh is their strength,
and he is the refuge for the salvation of his anointed one.
9 Save your people
and bless your heritage.
Shepherd them also and carry them always.
Praise to God for His Glory and Strength
29 A psalm of David.
1 Ascribe to Yahweh, O sons of God,
ascribe to Yahweh glory and strength.
2 Ascribe to Yahweh the glory ?due? his name.
Worship Yahweh in holy array.
3 The voice of Yahweh is over the waters;
the God of glory thunders.
Yahweh is over many waters.
4 The voice of Yahweh is powerful.
The voice of Yahweh is majestic.
5 The voice of Yahweh breaks the cedars.
Yahweh shatters even the cedars of Lebanon.
6 And he makes them skip like a calf;
Lebanon and Sirion like a young wild ox.
7 The voice of Yahweh flashes flames of fire.
8 The voice of Yahweh shakes the wilderness.
Yahweh shakes the wilderness of Kadesh.
9 The voice of Yahweh causes deer to give birth
and strips the forests bare.
And at his temple all in it say, “Glory!”
10 Yahweh sits enthroned at the flood,
and Yahweh sits as king forever.
11 May Yahweh give strength to his people.
May Yahweh bless his people with peace.
Lord’s Prayer
Daily Prayer
Lord God, heavenly Father, Your Son, Jesus Christ, began His ministry through a water Baptism in the Jordan River that led Him to a bloody baptism on the cross. Even now, He saves us through the water of Holy Baptism and the blood of the cup of the new testament. Grant us steadfastness to trust in water and blood as the means by which He continues to offer us His gracious presence; for He lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.
Concluding Prayer
Heavenly Father, send Your Holy Spirit into our hearts to direct and rule us to do Your will, to comfort us in all our afflictions, to defend us from all error, and to lead us into all truth; through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
