Amen.
Hear my prayer, O Lord; give ear to my pleas for mercy!
In your faithfulness answer me, in your righteousness!
Evening and morning and at noon I utter my complaint and moan,
and he hears my voice.
Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you;
He will never permit the righteous to be moved.
Psalm 49:5-12, 15
Psa 49:5 Why should I fear in times of trouble,
when the iniquity of those who cheat me surrounds me,
Psa 49:6 those who trust in their wealth
and boast of the abundance of their riches?
Psa 49:7 Truly no man can ransom another,
or give to God the price of his life,
Psa 49:8 for the ransom of their life is costly
and can never suffice,
Psa 49:9 that he should live on forever
and never see the pit.
Psa 49:10 For he sees that even the wise die;
the fool and the stupid alike must perish
and leave their wealth to others.
Psa 49:11 Their graves are their homes forever,
their dwelling places to all generations,
though they called lands by their own names.
Psa 49:12 Man in his pomp will not remain;
he is like the beasts that perish.
Psa 49:15 But God will ransom my soul from the power of Sheol,
for he will receive me. Selah

Yahweh the Shepherd
23 A psalm of David.
1 Yahweh is my shepherd;
I will not lack for anything.
2 In grassy pastures he makes me lie down;
by quiet waters he leads me.
3 He restores my life.
He leads me in ?correct paths?
for the sake of his name.
4 Even when I walk in a dark valley, I fear no evil
because you are with me.
Your rod and your staff, they comfort me.
5 You prepare before me a table
in the presence of my oppressors.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup is overflowing.
6 Surely goodness and loyal love will pursue me
all the days of my life,
and I will stay in the house of Yahweh
?for a very long time?.
The King of Glory
24 A psalm of David.
1 The earth is Yahweh’s, with its fullness,
the world and those who live in it,
2 because he has founded it on the seas,
and has established it on the rivers.
3 Who may ascend the mountain of Yahweh?
And who may stand in his holy place?
4 He who is innocent of hands and pure of heart,
who does not lift up his soul to falseness,
and does not swear deceitfully.
5 He will receive blessing from Yahweh,
and justice from the God of his salvation.
6 Such is the sort of those who seek him,
those who seek your face, even Jacob. Selah
7 Lift up your heads, O gates,
and rise up, O ancient doorways,
that the king of glory may enter.
8 Who is the king of glory?
Yahweh, strong and mighty;
Yahweh, mighty in war!
9 Lift up your heads, O gates,
and lift up, O ancient doorways,
that the king of glory may enter.
10 Who is the king of glory?
Yahweh of hosts,

Lord’s Prayer
Daily Prayer
O God, who established Your Son as the Righteous Branch by which You would save Your people, grant that we who have been grafted into Christ through the waters of Holy Baptism may b preserved from every sin and evil and be borne secure in the ark of Your Church until we join the angels and the whole company of heaven to sing eternal praises to You, who with Jesus Christ, our Lord, and the Holy Spirit, is one God, now and forever.
Concluding Prayer
Heavenly Father, send Your Holy Spirit into our hearts to direct and rule us to do Your will, to comfort us in all our afflictions, to defend us from all error, and to lead us into all truth; through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
