+ DAILY PRAYER +
A Plea for Deliverance from Persecution For the music director, according to The Lilies. Of David. 1 Save me, O God, because waters have come up to my neck. 2 I sink in the mud of the deep, and there is no foothold. I have come to watery depths, and the torrent floods over me. 3 I am weary with my calling out; my throat is parched. My eyes are exhausted in my waiting for my God. 4 More numerous than the hairs of my head…
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
Hear my prayer, O Lord; give ear to my pleas for mercy!
In your faithfulness answer me, in your righteousness!
Evening and morning and at noon I utter my complaint and moan,
and he hears my voice.
Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you;
He will never permit the righteous to be moved.
Psalm 47
Psa 47:1 Clap your hands, all peoples!
Shout to God with loud songs of joy!
Psa 47:2 For the LORD, the Most High,
is to be feared, a great king over all the earth.
Psa 47:3 He subdued peoples under us,
and nations under our feet.
Psa 47:4 He chose our heritage for us,
the pride of Jacob whom he loves. Selah
Psa 47:5 God has gone up with a shout,
the LORD with the sound of a trumpet.
Psa 47:6 Sing praises to God, sing praises!
Sing praises to our King, sing praises!
Psa 47:7 For God is the King of all the earth;
sing praises with a psalm!
Psa 47:8 God reigns over the nations;
God sits on his holy throne.
Psa 47:9 The princes of the peoples gather
as the people of the God of Abraham.
For the shields of the earth belong to God; he is highly exalted!

A Plea for Deliverance from Persecution
69 For the music director, according to The Lilies. Of David.
1 Save me, O God,
because waters have come up to my neck.
2 I sink in the mud of the deep, and there is no foothold.
I have come to watery depths,
and the torrent floods over me.
3 I am weary with my calling out; my throat is parched.
My eyes are exhausted in my waiting for my God.
4 More numerous than the hairs of my head
are those hating me without a cause.
Those who are destroying me—my enemies wrongfully— are mighty.
What I did not steal, I then must restore.
5 O God, ?you yourself know? my foolishness,
and my guilty deeds are not hidden from you.
6 Let those who wait for you not be put to shame because of me,
O Lord Yahweh of hosts.
Let those who seek you not be disgraced because of me,
O God of Israel.
7 Because on account of you I have borne reproach;
disgrace has covered my face.
8 I have become a stranger to my brothers
and a foreigner to my mother’s sons,
9 because the zeal for your house has consumed me,
and the reproaches of those reproaching you have fallen on me.
