Daily Devotion and Prayer for July 15th, 2025

 Better a poor person walking in integrity than one who is perverse ?in his speech? and is a fool. 2 Also, a life without knowledge is not good, and he who moves quickly with his feet ?misses the mark?. 3 As for the folly of humankind, its way leads to ruin, and against Yahweh his heart will rage. 4 Wealth adds many friends, but the poor will be left by his friends. 5 A witness of falsehood will not go unpunished, and he who breathes lies will not escape. 6 Many will seek favor before the generous,…

+ DAILY PRAYER +

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

Amen.

     Hear my prayer, O Lord; give ear to my pleas for mercy!

     In your faithfulness answer me, in your righteousness!

     Evening and morning and at noon I utter my complaint and moan,

     and he hears my voice.

     Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you;

     He will never permit the righteous to be moved.

Psalm 33:13-22

Psa 33:13  The LORD looks down from heaven;

he sees all the children of man;

Psa 33:14  from where he sits enthroned

he looks out on all the inhabitants of the earth,

Psa 33:15  he who fashions the hearts of them all

and observes all their deeds.

Psa 33:16  The king is not saved by his great army;

a warrior is not delivered by his great strength.

Psa 33:17  The war horse is a false hope for salvation,

and by its great might it cannot rescue.

Psa 33:18  Behold, the eye of the LORD

is on those who fear him,

on those who hope in his steadfast love,

Psa 33:19  that he may deliver their soul from death

and keep them alive in famine.

Psa 33:20  Our soul waits for the LORD;

he is our help and our shield.

Psa 33:21  For our heart is glad in him,

because we trust in his holy name.

Psa 33:22  Let your steadfast love, O LORD,

be upon us, even as we hope in you.

Reading for Tuesday July 15th        Prov 19:1-12

19      Better a poor person walking in integrity

than one who is perverse ?in his speech? and is a fool.

2 Also, a life without knowledge is not good,

and he who moves quickly with his feet ?misses the mark?.

3 As for the folly of humankind, its way leads to ruin,

and against Yahweh his heart will rage.

4 Wealth adds many friends,

but the poor will be left by his friends.

5 A witness of falsehood will not go unpunished,

and he who breathes lies will not escape.

6 Many will seek favor before the generous,

and everyone is the friend of a man of gifts.

7 All the brothers of the poor, if they hate him,

how much more will his friends keep away from him.

He pursues them with words, and they are gone.

8 He who acquires wisdom loves himself;

he who guards understanding loves to find good.

9 A false witness will not go unpunished,

and he who breathes lies will perish.

10 For a fool living in luxury is not fitting,

any more than it is for a slave to rule over princes.

11 The understanding of a person makes him slow to his ?anger?,

and his glory overlooks offense.

12 The rage of a king growls like a lion,

but his favor is like dew on the grass.

Lord’s Prayer

Daily Prayer

    Lord Jesus Christ, You came in humility and weakness to defeat the powers of sin, death, and the devil.  Cloth our weakness with Your righteousness by Your baptismal grace that we might withstand the power of every adversary; for You live and reign with the Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.

Concluding Prayer

    Heavenly Father, send Your Holy Spirit into our hearts to direct and rule us to do Your will, to comfort us in all our afflictions, to defend us from all error, and to lead us into all truth; through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
