+ DAILY PRAYER +

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

Amen.

     Hear my prayer, O Lord; give ear to my pleas for mercy!

     In your faithfulness answer me, in your righteousness!

     Evening and morning and at noon I utter my complaint and moan,

     and he hears my voice.

     Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you;

     He will never permit the righteous to be moved.

Psalm 142

Psa 142:1  With my voice I cry out to the LORD;

with my voice I plead for mercy to the LORD.

Psa 142:2  I pour out my complaint before him;

I tell my trouble before him.

Psa 142:3  When my spirit faints within me, you know my way!

In the path where I walk they have hidden a trap for me.

Psa 142:4  Look to the right and see:

there is none who takes notice of me;

no refuge remains to me; no one cares for my soul.

Psa 142:5  I cry to you, O LORD; I say, “You are my refuge,

my portion in the land of the living.”

Psa 142:6  Attend to my cry, for I am brought very low!

Deliver me from my persecutors, for they are too strong for me!

Psa 142:7  Bring me out of prison, that I may give thanks to your name!

The righteous will surround me, for you will deal bountifully with me.

Rendezvous in the Countryside

8 The voice of my beloved!

Look! Here ?he? comes leaping upon the mountains,

bounding over the hills!

9 My beloved is like a gazelle or ?a young stag?.

Look! ?He is? standing behind our wall,

gazing ?through? the window,

looking ?through? the lattice.

10 My beloved answered and said to me,

“?Arise?, my beloved! ?Come, my beauty?!

11 For look! The winter is over;

?the rainy season? ?has turned and gone away?.

12 The blossoms ?appear? ?in the land?;

?the time of singing has arrived?;

the voice of the turtledove is heard in our land.

13 The fig tree puts forth her figs,

and the vines are in blossom; they give fragrance.

?Arise?, my beloved! ?Come, my beauty?!”

14 My dove, in the clefts of the rock,

?in the secluded place?? ?in the mountain?,?

Let me see your face,

let me hear your voice;

for your voice is sweet and your face is lovely.

15 Catch for us the foxes,

the little foxes destroying vineyards,

for our vineyards are in blossom!

Poetic Refrain

16 ?My beloved belongs to me and I belong to him?;

he pastures his flock among the lilies.

17 Until the day breathes and the shadows flee,

turn, my beloved!

?Be like? a gazelle or ?young stag? on the cleft mountains.

Lord’s Prayer

Daily Prayer

   Almighty God, whom to know is everlasting life, grant us to know Your Son, Jesus, to be the way, the truth, and the life that we may boldly confess Him to be the Christ and steadfastly walk in the way that leads to life eternal; through the same Jesus Christ, our Lord, who lives and reigns  with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.

Concluding Prayer

    Heavenly Father, send Your Holy Spirit into our hearts to direct and rule us to do Your will, to comfort us in all our afflictions, to defend us from all error, and to lead us into all truth; through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
