Elihu Extols God’s Greatness Then Elihu continued and said, 2 “Bear with me a little longer, and ?I will explain?, for ?I still have something to say on God’s behalf?. 3 I will bring my knowledge from far away, and I will ascribe righteousness to my maker, 4 for truly my words are not falsehood; one who has perfect knowledge is with you. 5 Look, God is mighty but does not despise anyone; he is mighty and ?good in understanding?. 6 He does not keep the wicked alive…
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
Hear my prayer, O Lord; give ear to my pleas for mercy!
In your faithfulness answer me, in your righteousness!
Evening and morning and at noon I utter my complaint and moan,
and he hears my voice.
Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you;
He will never permit the righteous to be moved.
Psalm 99
Psa 99:1 The LORD reigns; let the peoples tremble!
He sits enthroned upon the cherubim; let the earth quake!
Psa 99:2 The LORD is great in Zion;
he is exalted over all the peoples.
Psa 99:3 Let them praise your great and awesome name!
Holy is he!
Psa 99:4 The King in his might loves justice.
You have established equity;
you have executed justice and righteousness in Jacob.
Psa 99:5 Exalt the LORD our God;
worship at his footstool! Holy is he!
Psa 99:6 Moses and Aaron were among his priests,
Samuel also was among those who called upon his name.
They called to the LORD, and he answered them.
Psa 99:7 In the pillar of the cloud he spoke to them;
they kept his testimonies and the statute that he gave them.
Psa 99:8 O LORD our God, you answered them;
you were a forgiving God to them,
but an avenger of their wrongdoings.
Psa 99:9 Exalt the LORD our God,
and worship at his holy mountain;
for the LORD our God is holy!

Elihu Extols God’s Greatness
36 Then Elihu continued and said,
2 “Bear with me a little longer, and ?I will explain?,
for ?I still have something to say on God’s behalf?.
3 I will bring my knowledge from far away,
and I will ascribe righteousness to my maker,
4 for truly my words are not falsehood;
one who has perfect knowledge is with you.
5 Look, God is mighty but does not despise anyone;
he is mighty and ?good in understanding?.
6 He does not keep the wicked alive
but grants justice to the afflicted.
7 He does not withdraw his eyes from the righteous,
but he sets them forever with kings on the throne, and they are exalted.
8 “And if they are tied up with fetters,
if they are caught in the cords of misery,
9 then he declares their work to them,
and their transgressions, that they are behaving arrogantly.
10 So he opens their ear to the discipline,
and he commands that they return from mischief.
11 If they listen and serve him,
they complete their days in prosperity and their years in pleasantness.
12 But if they do not listen, they perish by the sword,
and they pass away without knowledge.
13 And the godless of heart cherish anger;
they do not cry for help when he binds them.
14 ?They die in their youth?,
and their life ends among the male shrine prostitutes.
Lord’s Prayer
Daily Prayer
O God, in the glorious transfiguration of Your beloved Son You confirmed the mysteries of the faith by the testimony of Moses and Elijah. In the voice that came from the bright cloud You wonderfully foreshowed our adoption by grace. Mercifully make us co-heirs with the King in His glory and bring us to the fullness of our inheritance in heaven; through the same Jesus Christ, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.
Concluding Prayer
Heavenly Father, send Your Holy Spirit into our hearts to direct and rule us to do Your will, to comfort us in all our afflictions, to defend us from all error, and to lead us into all truth; through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
