Wisdom is Valuable, but No One is Completely Righteous Wisdom gives more strength to the wise than ten rulers who are in the city. 20 Surely there is no one righteous on the earth who continually does good and never sins. 21 Do not pay attention to everything people say, lest you hear your own servant curse you. 22 For your heart knows that you also have cursed others many times…
+ DAILY PRAYER +
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
Hear my prayer, O Lord; give ear to my pleas for mercy!
In your faithfulness answer me, in your righteousness!
Evening and morning and at noon I utter my complaint and moan,
and he hears my voice.
Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you;
He will never permit the righteous to be moved.
Psalm 91:9-16
Psa 91:9 Because you have made the LORD your dwelling place—
the Most High, who is my refuge—
Psa 91:10 no evil shall be allowed to befall you,
no plague come near your tent.
Psa 91:11 For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways.
Psa 91:12 On their hands they will bear you up,
lest you strike your foot against a stone.
Psa 91:13 You will tread on the lion and the adder;
the young lion and the serpent you will trample underfoot.
Psa 91:14 “Because he holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him;
I will protect him, because he knows my name.
Psa 91:15 When he calls to me, I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him.
Psa 91:16 With long life I will satisfy him
and show him my salvation.”

Wisdom is Valuable, but No One is Completely Righteous
19 Wisdom gives more strength to the wise
than ten rulers who are in the city.
20 Surely there is no one righteous on the earth
who continually does good and never sins.
21 Do not pay attention to everything people say,
lest you hear your own servant curse you.
22 For your heart knows
that you also have cursed others many times.
Absolute Wisdom is Unattainable
23 All this I have tested with wisdom. I said, “I will be wise!” but ?it was beyond my grasp?. 24 ?Whatever is—it is far beyond comprehension?. Who can discover it?
25 I set my mind to try to seek wisdom and the plan, and to know that wickedness is foolishness and that folly is delusion. 26 I myself found that more bitter than death is the woman who is a trap, whose heart is a snare, and whose hands are bonds. The one who pleases God escapes from her, but the sinner is caught by her. 27 “Look! I found this,” said the Teacher, “while trying to find how the plan fits together. 28 What my heart sought, I did not find. Although I found one righteous man among one thousand, I did not find one upright woman among all these. 29 Look! This alone I found: God made mankind upright, but they have devised many schemes.”
Lord’s Prayer
Daily Prayer
Almighty and most merciful God, You sent Your Son, Jesus Christ, to seek and to save the lost. Graciously open our ears and our hearts to hear His call and to follow Him by faith that we may feast with Him forever in His Kingdom; through the same Jesus Christ, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.
Concluding Prayer
Heavenly Father, send Your Holy Spirit into our hearts to direct and rule us to do Your will, to comfort us in all our afflictions, to defend us from all error, and to lead us into all truth; through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
