+ DAILY PRAYER +
Both the gray-haired and the old are among us those older than your father. 11 “Are the consolations of God too small for you, a word spoken gently with you? 12 Why does your heart carry you away? And why do your eyes flash, 13 that you turn your spirit against God, and you let such words go out of your mouth?
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
Hear my prayer, O Lord; give ear to my pleas for mercy!
In your faithfulness answer me, in your righteousness!
Evening and morning and at noon I utter my complaint and moan,
and he hears my voice.
Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you;
He will never permit the righteous to be moved.
Psalm 94:12-15
Psa 94:12 Blessed is the man whom you discipline, O LORD,
and whom you teach out of your law,
Psa 94:13 to give him rest from days of trouble,
until a pit is dug for the wicked.
Psa 94:14 For the LORD will not forsake his people;
he will not abandon his heritage;
Psa 94:15 for justice will return to the righteous,
and all the upright in heart will follow it.
Reading for Thursday September 12th Job 15:10-20
10 Both the gray-haired and the old are among us—
?those older than your father?.
11 “Are the consolations of God too small for you,
a word spoken gently with you?
12 Why does your heart carry you away?
And why do your eyes flash,
13 that you turn your spirit against God,
and you let such words go out of your mouth?
14 “What is a human being, that he can be clean,
or that one born of a woman can be righteous?
15 Look, he does not trust his holy ones,
and the heavens are not clean in his eyes.
16 ?How much less? he who is abominable and corrupt,
a man drinking wickedness like water.
17 “I will show you, listen to me;
and what I have seen, I will tell—
18 what wise men have told,
and they have not hidden that which is from their ancestors,
19 ?to whom alone? the land was given,
and no stranger passed through their midst.
20 “All of the wicked one’s days he is writhing,
even through the number of years that are laid up for the tyrant.
Lord’s Prayer
Daily Prayer
O God, You have prepared for those who love You good things that surpass all understanding. Pour into our hearts such love toward You that we, loving You above all things may obtain Your promises, which exceed all that we can desire; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.
Concluding Prayer
Heavenly Father, send Your Holy Spirit into our hearts to direct and rule us to do Your will, to comfort us in all our afflictions, to defend us from all error, and to lead us into all truth; through Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
