+ DAILY PRAYER +
+ MORNING +
The sign of the cross may be made in remembrance of our Baptism.
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
Amen.
In the morning, O Lord, You hear my voice;
in the morning I prepare a sacrifice for You and watch.
My mouth is filled with Your praise,
and with Your glory all the day.
O Lord, open my lips,
and my mouth will declare Your praise.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit;
as it
was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen.
Psalm 61:1-8
Hear my cry, O God, listen to my prayer; from the end of the earth I call to you when my heart is faint. Lead me to the rock that is higher than I, for you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the enemy. Let me dwell in your tent forever! Let me take refuge under the shelter of your wings! For you, O God, have heard my vows; you have given me the heritage of those who fear your name. Prolong the life of the king; may his years endure to all generations! May he be enthroned forever before God; appoint steadfast love and faithfulness to watch over him! So will I ever sing praises to your name, as I perform my vows day after day.
Matthew 11:26-30
Yes, Father, for such was your gracious will. All things have been handed over to me by my Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal him. Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
Lord’s Prayer
Daily Prayer
Lord God in theses days of testing and uncertainty it is so easy for us to feel like we bear a heavy burden, too weak to face the challenges that lie ahead of us. Help us by Your Holy Spirit to place our trust in You alone, let us seek refuge in the shelter of Your wings, and come to You for rest. We pray that You would take the yoke of our fear and anxiety and give us Your peace. Be with our leaders and those who care for us, grant them Your wisdom and strength that they may guide us through these difficult days to times of security and prosperity. In Your Son’s holy Name we pray. Amen.
Luther’s Morning prayer
I thank You, my heavenly Father, through Jesus Christ, Your dear Son, that You have kept me this night from all harm and danger; and I pray that You would keep me this day also from sin and every evil, that all my doings and life may please You. For into Your hands I commend myself, my body and soul, and all things. Let Your holy angel be with me, that the evil foe may have no power over me. Amen.
Let us bless the Lord.
Thanks be to God.
