KLS will be collecting school supplies and personal care items for the House of Mercy
from April 8 – April 23.
School Supplies: backpacks, pens, pencils, glue sticks, crayons & markers.
Personal Care: diapers, razors, tampons, sanitary pads, toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant.
If you would like to participate, please place items in the box on the table in the Narthex marked House of Mercy. These items will be for the Ingathering for the Genesee Zone Lutheran Women in Mission Spring Event that will be held on April 29th at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Hamlin.
The House of Mercy was founded by Sister Grace Miller in 1985, and is dedicated to serving and advocating for Rochester, NY’s homeless citizens. Food, shelter, clothing, advocacy — operating 24/7, the House of Mercy never closes its doors on people in need. It is a permanent homeless shelter and drop-in center on Hudson Ave. serving more than 4,000 people a month.
