COMMUNION PRACTICE AT PINNACLE LUTHERAN CHURCH We are delighted to have
you with us this Lord’s Day. We take Jesus at His word when He says that His Body and
Blood are truly present in, with and under bread and wine for the forgiveness of sins. We
adhere to the Holy Scriptures most especially Matthew 26:26-29; Mark 14:22-25; Luke
22:15-20, John 6:51-58 and 1 Corinthians 11:23-29. Which states: “The Lord Jesus on
the night when he was betrayed took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it,
and said, “This is my body which is for you. Do this in remembrance of me.” In the same
way also the cup, after supper, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do
this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.” For as often as you eat this bread
and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes. Whoever, therefore, eats
the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of profaning
the body and blood of the Lord. Let a man examine himself, and so eat of the bread and
drink of the cup. For anyone who eats and drinks without discerning the body eats and
drinks judgment upon himself.” If this is your confession, and you have examined yourself
and believe these words of our Lord to be true; you are welcomed to receive Holy
Communion today. If this is not your confession you are still invited to come forward to
receive the blessing and benediction. Please indicate that you are there to receive the
benediction by crossing your hands across your chest to the opposite shoulder. Christ’s
Richest Blessings!
