To God’s People at Pinnacle Lutheran Church
Christ himself gave some to be apostles, some to be
prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors
and teachers, 12to equip the saints for the work of
ministry, for building up the body of Christ, 13until we
all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of
the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the
whole measure of the fullness of Christ.
Ephesians 4:11-13
It’s a joy and honor to serve as your part-time
Vacancy Pastor! Beginning this weekend I’ll be conducting
weekend worship services, and will lead Sunday
morning Bible Study when it resumes in September.
God builds our faith and enriches our life when
we explore and apply His Word and feast at the
Lord’s Table.
“Administration” is my other major duty — “adding
ministry” in the vital areas of care and outreach to
which God calls us. My plan is to provide guidance
and encouragement to servant/leaders on the Church
Council, Board of Elders, KLS, School, etc. I’ll also
coordinate other aspects of pastoral care. Pastor Del
Tiemann will continue to make hospital and homebound
visits, and will officiate at weddings and funerals.
Additional local pastors will teach Confirmation,
fill in when I’m away, etc.
Personal notes: My wife Eloise and I enjoy biking,
hiking, kayaking, gardening, and grand-parenting.
Last September I retired after 36 years as Pastor of
St. John’s Lutheran Church in Pumpkin Hook
(Farmington). I’m currently the Rochester East Circuit
Visitor, Convener of the Palmyra-Macedon
Clergy Council, Chaplain of the Farmington Fire Department,
and a volunteer chaplain with the Ontario
County Sheriff’s Office
May God bless our ministry together at Pinnacle, to
the glory of God and for the benefit of many people.
I’m eagerly looking forward to serving with you in
this exciting time of transition!
